CHRIS HEMSWORTH WINS GQ 
'MEN OF THE YEAR AWARD' FOR "INTERNATIONAL BREAKTHROUGH"


Kylie Minogue presented Chris Hemsworth with his award.


Although not the same level of prestige as the BAFTA Rising Star, Chris Hemsworth won the GQ Men of the Year 2012 Award for International Breakthrough.  The ceremony was held at the Royal Opera House in London on Tuesday.

SWATH was one of several films noted as being a part of Chris's uprise to Hollywood stardom.  GQ writes, in part:

"Five years since leaving TV's Home & Away for Hollywood, Chris Hemsworth isn't just back with a bang so much as a hammer's blow. With the 27-year-old Australian reprising his role as Mjolnir-toting Norse god Thor, Marvel's Avengers Assemble smashed box office records to become not only the year's biggest-grossing film but currently the third-highest earner of all time. Not content with galactic fame, he brooded and battled through Snow White & The Huntsman opposite Twilight's Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron - gaining himself a rabid female fan base in the process - and earned indie credibility in Drew Goddard's cult horror-comedy Cabin In The Woods..."
